Fido®FastGate
Covert Detection of Trace Explosives

Overview

A person who is involved with the assembly, delivery or in any way comes into contact with an explosive device can easily transfer trace amounts of contamination to their hands. It has been determined that such contamination is easily transferred to personal items such as eyeglasses, keys or identification cards. This contamination presents an unobtrusive method in which facility security can detect and identify those personnel, temporary workers or visitors that have come in contact with explosive materials.Product shot of FastGate

A common security measure used by civilian and military facilities is to swipe or scan ID cards of those persons entering and exiting a facility. ICx has developed a device, the Fido FastGate, which covertly tests such cards for traces of explosive contamination. This approach to personnel screening allows security officials to gain the information they need without raising the suspicions of the suspect.

The Fido FastGate provides acute sensitivity in order to detain or block entry for suspicious persons while allowing continuous, timely throughput of “cleared” individuals. When attached to a network, the Fido FastGate alerts appropriate security official so that targeted individuals can be interrogated and/or apprehended.
