Bay Area 511

The Bay Area 511 Project involves the design, build, operate and maintain effort for an advanced traveler information system (ATIS) for the San Francisco Bay Area. In association with Parsons Brinckerhoff, ICx Transportation staff managed the project and developed the systems and services to collect and disseminate timely, accurate and reliable travel information in the nine-county Bay Area. Currently, ICx Transportation is managing the design, development, and implementation of web enhancements and data collection improvements to the 511 systems.

SANDAG 511

The SANDAG 511 project involves the development of a 511 system for the San Diego region, patterned after the successful Bay Area 511 system in the San Francisco region. ICx Transportation is part of a team has been contracted to design, implement, operate, and maintain an enhanced regional traveler information system that implements the goals and, to the extent appropriate with the objective of increasing the accuracy, reliability, comprehensiveness and usefulness of the service provided by 511. ICx Transportation is leading the web development for this project including requirements and design, 511 web hosting and web services deployment, and system integration and testing.

Reversible Lane Control System

The I-15 Reversible Lane Control System (RLCS) project included the replacement of an existing control system with a state-of-the-art programmable logic controller (PLC) based system. The new RLCS is a fully redundant system controlling seven field sites with pop-ups, variable message signs, gates and a variety of environmental and equipment status sensors. The RLCS is the first phase of a multi-stage deployment allowing Caltrans District 11 operating capabilities for a 20 mile section of I-15. ICx Transportation is leading all design, integration, start-up, training and documentation necessary to transition from the existing system to the replacement solution.

HDOT System Manager

The HDOT System Manager project is a five-year program to support the Hawaii DOT’s Intelligent Transportation System deployment. As the Systems Manager, ICx Transportation is providing a full range of technology based services to HDOT ranging from ITS program planning to integration of field systems. Key focus areas are freeway management, traveler information, coordinated arterial management and coordinated emergency management.
