Today's intruders are knowledgeable, well-equipped and have easy access to advanced technology. Weapons of mass destruction can now be delivered with relative ease; using vehicles and people to cause widespread damage. Now more than ever, it is important to gain the advantage over your threat. With ICx infrared cameras, intruders can no longer use the nighttime as a shield or fog as a blanket. These advanced cameras give the user the ability to see in total darkness and penetrate most weather conditions — day or night. While this technology can secure a perimeter, it can also help reduce the need for large expensive lights dramatically cutting overall electrical costs.
Although ICx infrared cameras are based on forward looking infrared (FLIR) technology developed for the US military, they vault ahead of conventional FLIR capabilities through the innovative use of VisionSense™ technology.
VisionSense combines video feeds from both a visible light (CCD) camera and an infrared camera. This multiple video capability provides the user immediate access to visual data from two separate wavelengths. VisionSense offers user-controlled, customized real-time mixing and merging of the two visual sources. This generates the ability to penetrate glare, as well as see through windows, glass or water.
Our infrared technology consists of key imaging processing electronics and software to rapidly transform the latest infrared detectors into functioning products. Our pan and tilt, forward-looking units operate in the 8 to12 micron spectral range - the infrared band in which humans and animals radiate much of their heat - and wavelengths that readily pass through fog and dust. Our versatile software is incorporated on a modular, scalable, flexible and fully programmable electronics card set that can be used with many detectors. The card set can be readily adapted to interface with new and higher resolution detectors as they are developed by outside vendors. Complete cameras can be readily customized to customer specifications.
